Dog Boarding that Nurtures Dogs of All Sizes, Ages, and Personalities
Dogs Doing What They LOVE: Running, Playing, Exploring, Sleeping!
Several times a day, dogs enjoy time in our large yards. We group the dogs by size and/or temperament and periodically rotate them to a new yard to add excitement. If dogs want to chase or be chased, someone is always willing to oblige. Maybe they just want to quietly explore by themselves, or chase a bird, or sprawl out on the grass to soak up some rays on a sunny day. And let’s face it, the cows on the other side of the fence are funny-lookin’ and an endless source of intrigue.
A “Typical” Day at Happy Tails
The routine can be affected by many factors, but this is what we shoot for. Morning starts with the first out between 7:00 am and 7:30 am, and back inside for breakfast by 8:00 am. After breakfast, the dogs stay in for a minimum of one hour, so they are not out running around with full bellies. Throughout the day, groups of dogs are periodically rotated into different yards so that each group gets plenty of time out in the main yard.
We all (dogs and people) take a rest break from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. During this time, the dogs are inside, individually, and those who require lunch eat it then. After a relaxing rest break, the afternoon activities and excitement duplicate the morning’s. Dinner is served by 5:00 pm. Again, the dogs rest until around 9:00 pm, when they go outside to potty and have some play time before retiring for the evening, generally by 10:00 pm.
